If you use LinkedIn, you may have recently noticed that there’s been a lot of talk on there regarding users (with huge followings) being banned from the platform.
So I’ve been thinking. How much do you rely on LinkedIn (or any similar such platform) to run your business?
Are all your eggs in one basket?
Or do you have a good marketing mix?
Building your business success on a platform that you don’t control is a risky strategy. Social media is a brilliant marketing tool, but you’re always at the mercy of the people who run it.
What happens to your business if they pull the plug or change the rules of engagement?
If you use social media to promote your business ensure it’s part of your marketing mix; not all of it. And whenever you can drive potential customers to an asset that you do control such as your website or your email marketing list.
