Email marketing platform MailChimp continues to expand to become an all-in-one online marketing platform with the introduction of a website builder.
The MailChimp website builder follows on from the recent addition of new features, like landing pages, Facebook ads, Google remarketing ads, postcards, social posting, and marketing CRM tools.
In beta currently, the website builder is free to use and allows users to create and host a simple website on a MailChimp subdomain.
The website builder uses a drag and drop editor, like the email template, so it’s easy to design your site that reflects your brand. All sites come with a built-in email signup form. Once your website is up and running, you can add further pages, create landing pages, and run social ads all through the MailChimp platform.
Users on the Standard plan (starting at $14.99 a month) can buy a custom domain or connect their existing domain. This package also includes custom templates and retargeting ads.
After the beta period, MailChimp will be adding new functionality like SEO tools, integrated pop-up forms, and in-depth reporting. However, as yet they haven’t given any indication as to the cost of these additional features.
We think the new website builder could be a good option for a small business with a limited budget. It should be easy to set up and manage, and its integration with MailChimp’s other features, such as email marketing is attractive.
